Our fellowship is centered on achieving three key objectives:
- Diversify the Legal Profession: Increase representation of BIPOC and Immigrant communities in the legal field.
- Expand the Pool of Legal Professionals: Grow the number of legal representatives serving immigrant communities in Oregon.
- Increase Bilingual and Bicultural Legal Professionals: Empower communities through legal professionals who are fluent in their language and culture.

Travel Reimbursement
- Make a copy of this Google Sheet before filling it out
- Attach with a screenshot of your route for mileage and attach any other receipts
- Reimbursements can be made through a physical check or through BILL
- If you choose to have an electronic payment, Oregon Worker Relief Accounting will send you a link to create a BILL account to link your bank account
Reimbursements should be sent to accounting@workerrelief.org by the 5th of the month to be processed by the 10th

Q: How long is the fellowship?
A: The Colibrí Fellowship is typically a one-year program, with the possibility of an earlier conclusion if full DOJ accreditation is achieved within that time.
Q: What kind of support will I receive during the fellowship?
A: Fellows receive a comprehensive support system that includes:
- Access to training sessions on immigration law and DOJ accreditation
- Mentorship from experienced legal professionals
- Study rooms and live classes to help prepare for accreditation
- Resources like weekly reporting templates, case tracking tools, and timesheets
Q: Will I receive mentorship during the fellowship?
A: Yes, each fellow will be paired with a mentor who is an experienced immigration attorney or accredited representative. You’ll have bi-weekly check-ins to discuss progress, challenges, and guidance on your cases.
Q: What happens if I miss a live class or check-in with my mentor?
A: If you miss a live class, recordings will be made available on the resource page. It’s essential to communicate with your mentor if you need to reschedule a check-in. Consistent participation is key to your success in the program.
Q: When will I know the date of my DOJ accreditation exam?
A: The exam dates will be shared closer to the completion of your training. Your mentor and the fellowship coordinator will guide you on the process leading up to the exam.
