Background

Finding an immigration attorney or accredited representative doesn’t have to be overwhelming. First, let ECO help. Use the online directory to find an attorney or rely on ECO to provide a prioritized referral to a clinic or provider.  ECO affiliated lawyers have a vast array of areas of expertise, experience, services so use this directory to help find the one to best serve your needs. Remember all of the legal services are free of charge.

ECO Clinics & Workshops

ECO Clinics and Workshops serve with discrete, time-sensitive legal needs in an immigration cases. Clinics and Workshops are designed to provide legal advice and brief assistance, including completion of asylum applications, work authorization applications, address changes, and similar forms. Clinics do provide a limited set of immigration services and only work on certain case types. When individuals require more complicated, complex, or lengthy immigration legal support, a Clinic or Workshop may be the first step in connecting that individual with lasting legal support for their immigration case. ECO-affiliated providers offer legal services free of charge to ECO enrollees. If you are working with a lawyer who is not yet an ECO Provider, ask them to join! It is free and easy for lawyers to join the ECO network. Full-service providers offer a whole range of full and limited-scope legal services. Clinical providers offer rapid, urgent full and limited-scope legal services such as work authorization, DACA renewals, asylum applications, changes of venue, advocacy, Temporary Protected Status applications and more. ECO sponsors a weekly lawyer-led asylum workshop that supports individuals with one-year filing deadlines how to apply for asylum with the immigration court.

ECO Asylum Clinic

A weekly in-person clinic at the ECO Zone providing representation in completing and filing applications for asylum. This is a prioritized clinic. A referral is required to attend.

ECO Open Clinic

A weekly in-person clinic at the ECO Zone providing representation in completing and filing applications for work authorization, changes of address, motions and applications before the immigration agencies, and needs assessments. This is a prioritized clinic. A referral is required to attend.

A daily clinic at the Portland Community College in North Portland in collaboration with the Oregon State Bar. The clinic provides a range of immigration services. The clinic provides services in person, by phone, and by video/virtual. The clinic prioritizes referrals.

A daily clinic at Catholic Community Services of Lane County in Eugene in collaboration with the Oregon State Bar. The clinic provides a range of immigration services. The clinic provides services in person, by phone, and by video/virtual. The clinic prioritizes referrals.

ECO Asylum Workshop

An in-person workshop led by a lawyer and trained professionals that trains up to 25 individuals per workshop on how to submit their application for asylum. Individuals complete their applications during the workshop and are prepared for same-day or next day filing with the immigration court or agency. The workshop takes place several times each week. This is a prioritized workshop and requires a referral to attend.

Full-Service Providers

ECO full service providers offer a full range of immigration legal services covering family visa petitions, consular processing, crime victim visas (U & T visas), asylum & protection, deportation defense, citizenship and naturalization, special petitions for juveniles and vulnerable populations, parole, and more. ECO affiliated lawyers provide high-quality immigration legal services. The diversity of ECO legal service providers enables ECO to offer a robust range of client-centered legal services, working toward a goal of geographic diversity across the entire state of Oregon. Full-service providers have limited availability and not all providers are accepting new cases or clients. Check with the provider directly, or ECO can make a prioritized referral when appropriate. You can search the online directory for panel attorneys who are private attorneys with immigration expertise. Remember, all ECO legal services are free of charge.

Portland Community College Legal Resource Center 

The PCC Legal Resource Center is a free legal clinic at PCC Cascade in North Portland, providing free legal services to Oregonians. We are dedicated to increasing access to justice and addressing the lasting impact of disproportionate law enforcement on people of color and low-income communities.
